the power of encouragement

Last night, my wife and I had dinner with a couple that absolutely encouraged us! It took us over two months to land this date with them, and it was definitely worth the wait!

Their words were timely. They built us up, and they asked us amazing and thought-provoking questions. They care about us deeply, and they showed us.

I also enjoyed how this great leader made me squirm with some gentle conflict. He did not easily let me off the hook and caused me to think through my current circumstances and stretch opportunity. I absolutely appreciated how he pushed me to realize my potential and seize some key leadership opportunities.

I hope that Erica and I are this encouraging to the next generation of leaders as this couple was to us last night!
