The North Way Ironmen are finishing up a chapter in A Discipleship Journey called Purpose, Passion & Giftedness. This chapter over this past month has encouraged and challenged us to consider what our spiritual gifts are and how to put them into practice. I've watched the men in my group wrestle to discover what spiritual gift they have. I'm beginning to see them get into serving roles to develop those spiritual gifts. I'm also watching some hone in on and focus their calling as the utilize their gifts in serving and leading. If all the Ironmen groups are doing what mine is doing, we're going to have a revolution of volunteerism and leadership at North Way!
Dave Buehring challenges us (when it comes to spiritual gifts) to do three things.
1) Discover it - search the spiritual gifts, ask friends, ask spiritual leaders
2) Develop it - serve your brains out, try new volunteer opportunities, explore the gift(s) through serving
3) Deploy it - once you know it, focus on it and serve/lead/execute through the specific gift(s) mix.
