back from "vacation"

Vacation is something that should be used for rest. This "vacation" was so far from restful. I drove a crazy amount of miles to leverage this time to make wonderful memories and visit some great friends.

I drove my family out to La Crosse, Wisconsin so I could officiate the wedding of Andy and Kacia Hosmer...2 very dear friends. From Pittsburgh to La Crosse was 13 driving hours, but with 3 little ones, it took us 15 hours. Not too bad though. After the wedding, we drove to Chicago, Illinois with double purpose. My wife had never been there, and my daughters would visit American Girl Place. After Chicago, we drove to Sterling Heights, Michigan to visit some friends from our old church, Rockpointe. My family stayed with our dear friends, Colin and Liz Harfield.

So, needless to say...I need some rest after my "vacation" of driving almost 1,700 miles! I did make wonderful memories with my family and friends though. And I did have a lot of time to think on the road. So, I'm going to post some thoughts over the next few weeks entitled "driving thoughts." See you around.
