Well, I didn't fall off the balance beam this weekend. I was 3 for 3 with an illustration I used after seeing Francis Chan do something similar. I was hoping to drive home the point that James makes...that faith without works is dead. A balance beam without someone doing a routine on it is useless, it's dead. All in all, I felt that the message that ultimately came forth was firm and something our church needed to hear. I know I did!
At the very end of my sermon, I prayed that our church will rise up and begin to live our faith in such a way that will reflect the words of Jesus when he spoke the sermon on the mount. Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven! C'mon church! We can do this!
