expectations

I heard once that expectations can set you up for failure and disappointment. As I journey with God and the church, I think this is true half the time. When it comes to expecting something from God out of the wrong motive, you can expect disappointment. When it comes to people that you're banking on, sometimes you just never know. But on the flip side, the opposite can be just as true. When you come to God with a humble heart (based on His promises), He will deliver. For instance, I expect God to love me no matter what I do. When there are people that you can trust fully, and you share a common vision, we can all expect the best of each other. For instance, true team looks out for the best of each other, and I can expect that each team member has my best interest in mind, and I have theirs.
