be still...tell Him what you want

This past weekend at North Way was a memorable. Not only did we have a great worship service where Scott Stevens nailed the sermon, but we also had some fun re-doing an old spiritual song. "Jesus on the Mainline" is an old tune originating in times of slavery that was a song of hope and security. There's a repeated lyric in this song that says, "tell Him what you want." This past weekend, we created a moment for people to be still (Psalm 46:10) and know that God is in control. We helped people tell God what they want...not in a materialistic way, but we helped them wade through the struggles of life. The song says, if you're sick and you want to get well, tell Him what you want. You could literally write your own lyrics to this song. If you're _____, and you need _____, tell Him what you want. Have you been still enough lately to know that God is in control and walking with you through your storm and darkness? If not, be still now.
